WHAT WOULD BE THE THREE WORDS TO DEFINE DÉLIFRANCE?
Live everyday delicious? It is the company motto!
WHAT VALUES DO YOU SHARE WITH DÉLIFRANCE?
Togetherness and Authenticity.
WHAT DEPARTMENT DO YOU WORK IN, AND WHAT ARE THE MAIN TASKS OF YOUR CURRENT POSITION?
I work in the UK&I Technical team as a Technical Account Manager. We support our UK&I customers with all things relating to food safety, quality, legality and customer compliance, working with multiple sites across the group. Every day is different – you could be dealing with product complaints, submissions for a customer brief, new product launches, a legislative update or conducting product quality reviews.
We also tend to travel quite a bit to support customer meetings, audits and visits to sites, as well as managing local 3rd party suppliers.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT DÉLIFRANCE?
Lots of things really! The range of products, factories and customers provide constant interest and challenges. Although very much of a food science background – working at Délifrance has also supported my more creative side, by allowing me to engage in different projects and CSR initiatives. Also, as a relatively young woman working in the food industry and committed, I really appreciate working for a company where I see women represented in more senior positions. Most of all it’s the people I work with every day - I work with such kind, genuine people, both in the UK and globally.
WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND?
I studied Human Nutrition at Lincoln University, followed by a brief summer placement in the food manufacturing sector. I then spent just over 2 years working in a bakery production environment in Kettering as a Specifications Technologist, before joining Délifrance in 2016. I started as a Customer Support Manager, then Assistant Technical Account Manager, before being promoted to a Technical Account Manager in 2018.
WHAT ARE THE REASONS THAT LED YOU TO JOIN US?
I was initially approached by a recruitment agent for the role but was won over by the photos of delicious eclairs on the Délifrance website at the time! Truthfully, the prospect of working for a global bakery company with a reputation for quality, and an impressive range of products and technologies was very appealing. I felt it was somewhere that would be open to my ideas and as well as support me to develop in my career.
DO YOU HAVE AN INCREDIBLE TALENT?
I play the Harp – but not incredibly well! I’m also not too bad at using Pivot Tables.
WHAT ARE THE THREE THINGS YOU WOULD BRING TO A DESERT ISLAND?
Probably some kind of weapon, snacks and a boat to escape…
